Ventilation solutions manufacturer Airflow Developments has opened its new Air Academy at its High Wycombe head office – a facility which incorporates realtime indicators of temperature, humidity, CO2 and Nitrogen Oxide to demonstrate the benefits of improved indoor air quality

A

t the official launch to the press, managing director Alan Siggins said with the issue of ‘wellbeing’ very much the focus at the moment Airflow wanted to move the industry forward in terms of air quality. “We’ve created an environment here that hammers this home. This has taken reporting on ventilation to a new level.”

The facility has been designed to showcase the benefits of effective ventilation systems in both domestic and commercial properties, the technology behind Airflow’s product portfolio and to help educate and train attendees on best practice installation methods. The facility benefits from fully operational ventilation with heat recovery installations to show the importance of specifying the correct system when it comes to improving indoor air quality. In addition, the latest DUPLEXVENT commercial Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery units, which are regulated by advanced sensor technology demonstrate the difference in air quality outside the building - with a controlled environment inside. Real time indicators of environmental elements such as temperature, humidity, CO2 and Nitrogen Oxide highlight how both personal wellbeing and

Multi delivers IAQ

The Air Academy has a separate plant room for its new Duplexvent Multi range of commercial MVHR units, the Duplexvent Multi eco. The units, which comply with 2016 ErP regulations and the most stringent incoming 2018 legislation, can be controlled from a PC or smartphone and come in a wide range of units delivering an airflow of up to 7,800m3

recovering up to 93% of otherwise wasted heat. With currently over 75% of office

workers suffering from lapses in concentration and drops in productivity due to poor indoor air quality, ventilation has never been more vitally needed. The Duplexvent Multi eco is said to provide an effective system that not only improves the air environment through its G4, M5 or F7 air filters but is also environmentally friendly with heat recovery efficiency of more than 93%. The Multi eco unit is also able to

integrate with BMS allowing the user to responsively control the indoor environ- ment with just a few clicks. Alternatively the Multi eco can be fitted with Airflow’s VAV damper system, which enables the user to adjust the building’s ventilation based on zonal demand without the need of BMS integration. The range offers versatility in its installation options, available in nine different models with various installation configurations and can ventilate an office with air flows from 500m3 7,800m3
