ndustry expert Les Corbett has joined the Essex based commercial refrigeration


Allouche becomes IIR director general


He has designed and project managed the building of state-of- the-art refrigeration cabinet test facilities, designed and developed a full range of low temperature and high temperature cabinets for leading grocery supermarket chains and has great experience in developing products in China specifi cally for the UK market.


Formerly a director of Corsway


Refrigeration Services, a role which he held since 2017, Corbett has also worked at The Alan Nuttall Partnership, Carter Retail Equipment, and SPG.


At Pastorfrigor, Corbett will head up the technical team and be the main point of contact for all engineering related requests from customers. He will be working closely with factories to help develop great products for the UK market and provide a strong aftersales service to customers. Simon Robinson, managing

Replacing Didier Coulomb, who will be stepping down from the role after 20 years, Dr Allouche, a Norwegian- Tunisian refrigeration scientist, was nominated by Norway (Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Aff airs; Norwegian Embassy in France) and appointed by vote on the eve of the 26th

With 13 years of experience and


knowledge in the fi eld, she will offi cially take the lead of the IIR during the second semester of 2024. Currently head of projects at the IIR, Dr Allouche holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the

experience in HVAC industry. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow


of CIBSE and the Institute of Refrigeration, a member of ASHRAE as well as the Institute of Acoustics and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. Hawes’ experience is extensive


and across many sectors including industrial, commercial, MOD and railways as well as R&D. Posts held include director of special projects,


senior technical services manager, commissioning consultant and design consultant dependent on project requirements. Hawes’ expertise in commissioning and commissioning management covers commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, pharmaceutical applications, and mission critical datacentre projects.


University of Porto (Portugal) and is the author of numerous articles published in scientifi c journals, guides and reports. She was a research scientist in Refrigeration Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and holds an invited Associate Professor title in NTNU since 2021.
