Turbulent times
oſt en fi nd myself saying that we seem to be living in funny old times. At the moment, it all feels less funny and more relentlessly negative in a world of escalating wars, political infi ghting at all
levels, and unpredictable supply chains. Closer to home, the collapse of ISG is no doubt having a signifi cant impact on some mechanical
and electrical (M&E) subcontractors, who oſt en operate on thin margins. T is is an industry that’s great at pulling together, so let’s hope it does once more. In this month’s pages, we cover a variety of topics, starting with Alan Siggins of
Airfl ow, who explains the current legislation on UK Indoor Air Quality standards. Martin Smith of Conex Bänninger is a man on a mission, looking to help create a new generation of press fi tting installers and Tom Burniston of Samon explores measurement principles in refrigerant gas detection.
