Star Refrigeration has unveiled Azanechiller 3.0, the latest evolution of its low-charge ammonia chiller, setting a new standard for industrial cooling effi ciency and sustainability.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, Azanechiller 3.0 exceeds EcoDesign energy effi ciency targets by up to 110%, using up to 52% less electricity than standard models. It outperforms UK competitors by as much as 20% in Seasonal Energy Performance Ratio (SEPR), making it the most effi cient low-charge, air-cooled ammonia chiller on the industrial market. Capable of operating across a temperature range of -20°C to +25°C and cooling capacities up to 1,600kW, the plug-and- play chiller is suitable for food processing, pharmaceuticals, data centres, ice rinks and temperature-controlled storage. Engineered for resilience, it off ers a 25+ year lifespan and robust safety features, including portable safety showers, enclosed electrics, and optional access ladders. Environmentally, the Azanechiller 3.0 is future-proof in that it is F-gas and PFAS regulation-exempt with a low ammonia charge (0.18kg/kW), and optimised for ambient temperatures up to 40°C. The system is also Ethos-ready, allowing real-time AI-based data analysis and energy optimisation. Azanechiller 3.0 aims to deliver a reliable, energy-effi cient, and sustainable cooling solution that supports businesses on their journey to Net Zero.

Clivet has introduced the latest generation of its ZEPHIR4 air renewal and purifi cation units, building on the innovation fi rst launched in 2004. Designed for large spaces such as offi ces, schools, gyms, restaurants, and hotels, the new series off ers airfl ow rates from 2,300 to 19,000 m³/h and integrates full inverter technology with R-32 refrigerant to deliver higher operating effi ciency throughout the year. ZEPHIR4 uses active energy recovery via a heat pump circuit
to transfer energy from exhaust air to incoming fresh air. This process not only neutralises the thermal load of outdoor air in all seasons but also contributes to meeting internal building loads, reducing reliance on other systems. The unit is rated T2/TB2 under UNI EN 1886, confi rming its high thermal and mechanical performance. It ensures comfortable air intake even at outdoor temperatures as low as -20°C and off ers an extended operating range in cooling mode, supporting year- round climate control. Independent from other HVAC systems, ZEPHIR4 off ers notable savings in both capital investment and operational costs. Its benefi ts extend across the supply chain, from designers and investors to installers, service providers, and end users. The system features integrated iFD electronic fi ltration and continuous CO₂ monitoring, introducing only the necessary volume of fresh air to maintain indoor air quality. This targeted ventilation approach can reduce energy consumption by up to 45% compared to conventional solutions, while maintaining occupant comfort.
