Panasonic, and tado° have launched two smart features to make heat pumps cheaper to run, longer-lasting and easier to install - all without needing costly or messy plumbing work. Aquarea Sync

and Hydraulic Balancing features are the fi rst to come from a joint development between the two companies. The features, available to Panasonic Aquarea customers starting today (Hydraulic Balancing from November), will deliver: Lower heating bills: tado° users already save an average of 22% on their bills. Panasonic customers can now save even more. No more cold spots: dynamic room-by-room boosts keep every corner of your home comfortable. Longer heat pump lifespan: fewer stop–start cycles reduce

strain on the system. Simplifi ed installation: no valve replacement or plumbing work needed - a smarter alternative to traditional hydraulic balancing. More than 25 million heat pumps are already installed in

Europe, and millions more are expected as energy prices rise and households look to cut costs and reduce their emissions. Enrique Vilamitjana, Panasonic Corporation’s Heating &

Ventilation A/C Company, added: “Aquarea Sync makes your heat pump even smarter without replacing a thing. And with hydraulic balancing, we’re removing one of the biggest barriers to switching - installation hassle. These features make energy savings easier and heat pumps more accessible to everyday households.” “This next chapter in our partnership with Panasonic is about building smarter features together,” said Christian Deilmann, Co-Founder of tado°. “Because we’re vendor-agnostic, our system already works with many heat pumps, but our deep technical access to Panasonic’s Aquarea models let us go further than ever. These upgrades give people more comfort, more savings and more ease – all in the background, automatically.”  www.aircon.panasonic.eu/GB_en/happening/aquarea-heat- pumps-and-tado-1/

Weatherite

Weatherite has launched its next- generation R290 heat pump for commercial and light-industrial applications.

The launch comes at a crucial moment for the HVAC industry. With tightening environmental regulations, especially around the phase- down of high-GWP (global warming potential) synthetic refrigerants under the F-gas Regulation, the shift toward natural refrigerants like propane (R290) is rapidly accelerating. However, safety concerns, particularly around the fl ammability of R290 have created signifi cant barriers to widespread adoption. Weatherite’s new unit overcomes these challenges head-on. It has been meticulously designed to provide maximum safety without compromising on effi ciency, cost-eff ectiveness, or scalability. This positions the product as a serious contender for organisations looking to decarbonise their heating and cooling infrastructure while future-proofi ng their operations. At the heart of Weatherite’s new system is a high-effi ciency, fully integrated heat pump using natural refrigerant R290. It combines: ■Fully hermetic compressors ■Optimised heat exchangers ■An advanced defrost cycle management system ■A custom-developed multifunctional safety architecture.

This proprietary safety system provides layered protection, not just during routine operation, but also during maintenance and any abnormal conditions that may arise, off ering peace of mind to facilities managers and HVAC engineers alike. In parallel, the intelligent defrost cycle ensures superior stable performance in real-world weather conditions, reducing system downtime and energy waste. The result is a robust, high- performing system designed for retail, commercial, and light- industrial environments where heating and cooling demand is both constant and critical.
