he British Refrigeration Association (BRA) has appointed Neil Roberts,


senior technical sales manager at refrigerant supplier Climalife, as its new vice president. This follows the appointment of Mark Hughes as BRA president in July. Mr Roberts joined Climalife in April after 12 years at Chemours, and previously spent five years at DuPont (UK) as business manager fire extinguishants EMEA. With almost 30 years’ experience in the refrigeration industry is determined to continue to support the industry through the next phase of transition to very low GWP refrigerants and moving towards a sustainable future.


Mr Roberts said: “After so many years working in the Industry I’m really pleased to be able give something back. It’s very humbling to know people put their trust in you and I would like to acknowledge the other candidates who were all equally worthy. I can assure all the members that I will strive to play my part in taking the BRA forward as the industry has to change to move towards low emissions solutions.”

ir-conditioning specialists Coolair Equipment has appointed David Mansell


as sales/business development specialist at the Midlands office and Danny McLaughlin as sales/ business development specialist at the firm’s southern office in Maidstone, Kent. Mr Mansell will be responsible for the sales, design and procurement of air conditioning and any associated services in the region. Mr McLaughlin, who has 30 years’ experience within the HVAC industry, will be introducing Coolair Equipment’s service portfolio to new and existing clients. As with Mr McLaughlin, Mr


Mansell has vast experience across the HVAC sector with previous roles including regional sales manager for Toshiba Business Solutions and director of operations and key accounts at Celsius Solutions.

mmersion cooling specialist Asperitas is preparing for their commercial leadership transition


following major milestone with new strategic investor, entering a new phase for immersion cooling. Part of the original core team of Asperitas, Maikel Bouricius will now take over from Peter Uelen, who had joined the management team for an interim period in 2020 as chief commercial officer. This was part of the Asperitas scale-up project, with Mr Uelen on board to


further structure and develop the team members. Moving forward, Mr Uelen will remain involved as an advisor to the management team. A crucial member of the management team since 2017, Mr Bouricius firstly led the marketing department, latterly leading the business development activities. Knowing the innovative company


from inside out, Mr Bouricius has been key to the implementation of several milestones for Asperitas since its introduction to the market. Mr Bouricius has driven the partnership with Shell for immersion cooling, helping them to earn their status as one of the leaders in immersion cooling fluids. Mr Uelen, alongside Mr Bouricius, has added supporting partners to the Asperitas ecosystem and has contributed to the success of the recent investment round. The new strategic investor is set to spearhead the company’s next step for immersion cooling, where early adopters are now being clear about their requirements and demand.

ecumseh Products Company has appointed Jay Pittas as chief executive and two


proven industry leaders have taken new commercial management roles. The newly appointed management team includes Doug Murdock, president of the Americas, and Ricardo Maciel, president of EMEA/Asia. Ernani


Nunes continues to serve as the SVP of global sales and engineering. Most recently, Mr Pittas has served as the chairman of Tecumseh’s board of directors since April 2020, and thus has already been an integral part of Tecumseh’s leadership team. Mr Pittas previously served as the president and chief executive officer of Remy International, a leading supplier of highly engineered automotive parts for passenger and commercial vehicles. Prior to this position, he served as president of the Wolverine Specialty Materials business which supplied coated metals for automotive and electronic applications. He has also held significant international and managerial positions with Honeywell, UOP and ARI Technologies.


To further accelerate commercial growth, operational excellence and improved customer service, Mr Pittas has appointed three proven industry leaders to commercial management positions.


Doug Murdock who has served Tecumseh as the president and chief executive for over five years will assume the new role of president of Americas. Ricardo Maciel, a former chief executive of SECOP, assumes the president of EMEA/Asia. Ernani Nunes, a former executive from Embraco, will continue to serve as the SVP of global sales and engineering.
