olborn, one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial air conditioning
and mechanical and electrical services, has appointed Andy Micklethwait as a director of Holborn Building Services following a good year as its general manager. Mr Micklethwait joined in March 2019 and made a positive impact on the business immediately, undertaking a thorough review of the whole business, recommending and implementing changes to systems and processes to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness. Holborn managing director Nick Scragg said of the appointment: “It’s been a challenging year and has required every member of the team at Holborn to go the extra mile, to ensure we continued to provide 24/7 support to our critical data centre clients and others, like West Midlands Ambulance. No one epitomised this spirit more
than Andy, who worked long hours to support our clients, while still working on the in-house project of getting Holborn Building Services fit for the future, which already looks very different to the one expected and planned for. He’s focussed on delivering a high- quality service to every client and has already switched us to electronic reports and provided service clients with direct access to our task management system as we
continue to improve our offering. “It was a natural step to appoint Andy as a Director, to not only run Building Services, but expand its client base and further enhance our trusted partner status with our clients. He’s a valuable member of the team here at Holborn and this cements his future with us, which is good for everyone.”
Mr Micklethwait commented: “It is immensely gratifying to have my work at Holborn recognised in this
way, although the appointment was a complete surprise and never on my personal career path. This is a good business. It is client-obsessed and determined to deliver the highest quality levels of service in both new installations and those we service, which given the current worries of re-circulating air in offices is proving a challenge. “Now is the right time to formalise the quality the business is renowned for and we are currently undertaking ISO certification in 9001 for quality management, 14001 for environmental management and 45001 for occupational health & safety management, all expected by Q1 of next year. I’m confident Holborn has a bright future as demand increases for the services we offer, from installing cooling solutions in data centres to maintaining and upgrading cooling in offices and I’m pleased to be making a difference.”
