elcome to the February issue of ACR News. Acquisitions seems to be the
name of the game at the moment, driven in part at least, by the ever looming threat of recession, not just for the UK, but globally. Big tech companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Meta are reacting to and preparing for it – constantly in the headlines with mass layoffs reportedly due to global economic growth slowdown. In the UK we’ve been in and out of technical recession for the last few months, staving it off with surprising shoots of growth. But 2008 wasn’t really all that long ago and while the circumstances were very different and we did lose some friends and businesses along the way, most of us survived it. Given that this next one isn’t the surprise 2008 was, we’re much better equipped to make preparations, whatever that may mean, and get through it.
