Munters to acquire Geoclima M
unters has signed an agreement to acquire Geoclima, an Italian
manufacturer of air- and water- cooled chillers. The acquisition of Geoclima is a key part of Munters strategy to expand into new markets and broaden the product portfolio. ‘We are delighted to welcome Geoclima to the Munters family. This strategic acquisition allows us to accelerate our development of energy effi cient data center cooling solutions and strengthens our global off ering,’ said Klas Forsström, president and CEO of Munters. Through the proposed acquisition Munters gains access to chiller
technology, which plays a critical role in the data center cooling market today. Geoclima was founded by Paolo
Ferraris who has operated the company as CEO for 30 years, he will remain as Managing Director for at least the next year to ensure a successful transition.
Closing of the acquisition will occur after a restructuring of the legal entities of the Geoclima group is completed and is subject to customary closing conditions applicable in Italy. The proposed acquisition will be fully fi nanced through existing credit facilities and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024.
Peak performance from Quickfridge C
alling it a #Quickfridge might be stretching it, but charity fundraiser Daniel Fairbrother made the most of support from leading wholesale group Beijer Ref in the gruelling 100km Peak District Ultra Challenge. Daniel, from Stevenage, tackled the course with a domestic fridge sponsored by Beijer Ref’s Quickfridge emergency cooling solution strapped to his back. He undertook the challenge in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, in recognition of the treatment they have provided for his fi ancée Hayley’s eight-year-old twin sons’ eye condition since birth. Daniel completed this year’s London Marathon carrying the fridge (which he calls Tallulah) and decided to follow that with the equivalent of back-to-back marathons over the rugged Peak District terrain.
