Moltenlands naming rights to BBL and WBBL Play-Off Finals
has secured the naming rights to the prestigious BBL and WBBL Play-Off Finals, taking place at The O2 on Sunday 8 May. Molten UK & Ireland marketing manager Jessica Newland is delighted to be attaching Molten's name to the showpiece event and enthused: "Molten Sports is very proud to have the naming rights for the 2016 BBL and WBBL Play- Off Finals. At a time when British Basketball is increasing in both popularity and media coverage, we are delighted to further develop our long-standing relationship with the BBL. The O2 is a superb venue with the event drawing a record-breaking crowd last year and we are pleased that Molten will be at the forefront of this exciting season-ending showdown for both leagues." “We have an excellent working relationship with Molten, who are a hugely valued
L
partner,” added BBL chief operating officer Andy Webb. “We are pleased that we have been able to further expand our collaboration with this naming rights deal. Not least, because The Molten Play-Off Finals are to be shown live on the BBC red button and via the BBC Sport website, which is great for both parties and for the sport.”
Carly Telfordlaunches first women’s only goalkeeping gloves
launched the first-ever goalkeeping gloves designed specifically for women by Nottingham-based Precision Goalkeeping. In a first for sportswear, Precision
E
Goalkeeping, which also provides gloves for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, has developed a range with a narrower fit, reduced finger length and tighter backhand to suit female hands more comfortably. Carly said: “Since I was younger I’ve always used boys’ or men’s’ gloves, because that was all that was available to me. It’s always a struggle to find a glove that fits my hand because although a lot of the time gloves say they are designed to be unisex, they don’t always fit a female hand correctly in a way that aids goalkeeping. After speaking to Precision Goalkeeping they offered to create a glove specifically for me and for women that would feature reduced finger length and a tighter fit. The glove has already been a massive benefit to me and I’m finding it helps to improve my game significantly. It’s great that Precision have taken the time to look at the women’s game and provide a glove that compliments women goalkeepers perfectly.” David Sanderson, brand director at Precision Goalkeeping, said that once the
requirement became apparent they were happy to get involved. He said: “We found a problem the women’s game had, and wanted to be able to solve
it to help all those female keepers out there struggling with equipment that isn’t quite right for them in terms of size or fit. The main benefit is that it actually fits a female hand. Men’s gloves are often too big across the palm area, which leaves excess material and means the keeper is disadvantaged in the game. “The new Fusion X Women’s glove range allows the goalkeeper to get a better feel and control of the football and we’re delighted we could help the women’s game continue to grow.” Carly Telford planned to use the Fusion X Gloves in the Women’s Super League season as her side kicked-off the new season against Manchester City on March 23.
