Girolaunches helmet reinforced with TeXtreme technology W

orldwide manufacturer of protective helmets Giro Sport Design recently announced the launch

of Avance MIPS, an innovative ski racing helmet that uses unique carbon fibre TeXtreme to create a lighter, stiffer and stronger hull. "TeXtreme provides an impressive resistance to high-

energy impact," said Mattia Berardi, Ski Giro product manager. The new helmet is designed to offer improved protection against four major categories of common ski hazards: high energy impact, rotational energy, multiple impact collisions and impacts with poles. To fight against the high-energy impacts often faced by skiers, several innovations have been

developed, the use of TeXtreme material stems on a solid shell that allows the helmet to better withstand repeated multiple impacts falls . TeXtreme is used in a wide range of successful products, by companies including Bauer Hockey, Prince Tennis, Cobra Puma Golf, Stiga Table Tennis and Bell Helmets. The same innovative technology is applied to the Formula 1 racing helmets, NASCAR and the America's Cup, as well as in the manufacture of bicycles, clubs golf, tennis rackets, surfboards, rowing shells, skis and snowboards. The Avance MIPS helmet will be available for sale to Giro authorized retailers in late 2016.

Oakleyunveils lightest performance sunglasses T

Oakley’s lightest ever sport performance frames with the unobstructed view from a rimless Plutonite toric shield offering an extended range of view in the upper peripheral region. Both frames arrive with Prism, Oakley’s revolutionary lens technology

that fine-tunes vision for specific sports and environments. Prism Road lens helps you see what you’ve been missing, enhancing vision in both bright light and shadows to help riders spot changes in the texture of road surfaces. PrismTrail further enhances reds and browns so riders can quickly spot sand, rocks, roots and other transitions in shade and bright light.

Engineered to maintain a comfortable and secure fit, both frames

utilize Oakley’s patented Three-Point fit to ensure that frames only make contact at the bridge of the nose and behind the temples to ensure perfect optical alignment thus eliminating the discomfort associated with unbalanced pressure points. Earsocks and nosepads are coated with Unobtainium which increases grip upon contact with perspiration. EVZero Path and EVZero Range are crafted from stress-resistant O

Matter frame material which is both lightweight and durable for all-day comfort. The EVZero Path and EVZero Range weigh in at 22g and 24g respectively.

360-degree visibility for runners and cyclists A

new reflective LED armband has been launched by wearable tech experts, Fhoss Technology, providing running and cycling enthusiasts with 360-degree visibility during hours of low light and darkness. Powered by a 100,000-hour battery, the FiArmband is based on innovative and patented technology which allows users to be illuminated in complete darkness. Andrew Kimitri, CEO of Fhoss Technology says: “Until recently, high visibility has been based on traditional reflective tape which requires an external light source to reflect from. Our technology is a big step forward and, with it in use in our new armband, it means that people who enjoy outdoor exercise can feel assured

that they can be seen at all times, in all light and weather conditions and even in complete darkness. “We have developed our technology over a number of years and it has been tried and tested by big names in construction, aviation and highways. The FiArmband is a fantastic product and we are really excited to be taking a step into the consumer market space. The 100,000 hour battery makes this product stand out from any other currently on the market.” Made from lightweight, water resistant nylon, the FiArmband can wrap around the wrist, arm or ankle and the product’s ‘one- size-fits-all’ nature means it is suitable for both adults and children.
