CLEAN PUMPING FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE APPLICATIONS

Offering EHEDG (Type EL Class I) and 3A certification as standard, the new MasoSine Certa pump from Watson- Marlow Fluid Technology Group has been designed to set a new benchmark in clean pumping for all food and beverage industry applications. Certa offers users a fully CIP capable pump at flow rates up to 99,000 l/hr, with all contact parts being FDA and EC1935 compliant. Designed to be extremely easy to clean, the pump delivers high suction capability to handle viscous products – ranging

from frozen orange juice, deli salads and bakery produce, through to cheese curd and savoury pie fillings. It has a sinusoidal rotor that gently carries fluid through the pump to dramatically reduce shear while cutting power consumption by up to 50% with high viscosity fluids. This food-contact compliant Certa Sine pump also offers all of the typical advantages of MasoSine sinusoidal technology, including gentle pumping with virtually no pulsation, superior viscous handling, simplicity, reliability, energy efficiency, interchangeable parts and low cost of ownership. These benefits apply to all stages of the process, from unloading of the raw material to a storage tank, through transfer to a mixer/ agitator/reactor/cooking vessel, to final transfer to the filling line. Along with certified innovation for

food industry applications, the new Certa Sine pump series will provide an ideal solution for F&B, cosmetic or at any facility that requires the highest cleaning standards, the company explains.

NEW LINEAR ACTUATOR RANGE SUITS HYGIENIC APPLICATIONS

New from Heason Technology are Kollmorgen’s ERD series stainless steel linear actuators. These combine the AKMH series servo motors with long life ballscrew driven transmissions as IP69K-rated fully housed packages that can be installed in high-hygiene applications such as food produce or pharmaceutical machinery. The actuators are designed for use with the

AKD or AKD-N series centralised and decentralised servo drives and feature a single cable for power and feedback, while a choice of encoder feedback includes digital resolver SFD3 and Hiperface DSL. These is a choice of four AKMH servo motors, allowing the

ERD a thrust force of up to 20kN with feed speeds to over 1m/sec over a stroke length of up to 600mm. In addition, the actuator screw section diameter ranges from 42 to 132mm across the four frame sizes. A variety of mounting versions are available including

foot, flange, trunnion and clevis pin, with the actuator rod supplied with internal or external threads and an optional support bracket. A pressure compensation feature prevents condensation from forming inside the motor. Aimed at precision positioning tasks such as lifting units,

closing or feed axes, or for machine format adjustments, the actuators are available with inline or reverse (parallel) motor mount configurations.
