Curtiss-Wright introduces new family of Rotary Position Sensors
C
urtiss-Wright’s Industrial division has launched the NRH271 and NRH272, its new non-contact, rotary position sensors from Penny & Giles. With a low-profile sensor body and small footprint, these fully-encapsulated, IP69K-rated sensors offer exceptional performance against water, dust, shock, vibration and temperature. They are ideal for on/off-highway vehicles used in challenging environments and as cost-effective solutions for medium volume applications where wide-ranging options or degree of customization is required. The NRH271 is a 3-wire, single output variant with a supply current rating of less than 12.5mA, while the NRH272 is a 6-wire,
dual-
redundant output variant with a supply current rating of <25mA. The dual-die sensor has two separately-powered input supply and output channels for full electrical redundancy. Both feature a 9.5mm housing and use wear-free Hall-effect sensing technology to provide a long mechanical life.

isitors to the IMHX 2016 are invited to visit safety company Pyroban’s stand to learn more about recent updates to legislation affecting explosion protection for materials handling equipment. Pyroban carries out explosion protection conversions for mobile equipment, including forklift trucks, so that they can be used safely and legally in potentially explosive atmospheres. At stand 12V70 at the NEC, Birmingham, Pyroban’s specialist team will be talking to visitors about important changes to a number of standards and directives which are designed to improve safety and minimise risk. “A number of different industries use explosion protected forklift trucks, from chemicals, paint, gas
and waste through to pharmaceuticals and the food and drink supply chain,” says Matthew Shirkie, Commercial Manager for Pyroban. “These new rules and standards apply to all such operations with potentially explosive atmospheres.”

The new generation Gebhardt OLS has been developed to deliver higher throughputs, a better storage
density, as well as a better price/performance ratio. The Gebhardt OLS Heavy, which can handle a wider variety of totes, cartons and trays weighing up to 50kg and 1200mm long has also been introduced. The Gebhardt MLS (Multi-level) shuttle continues to offer an ideal solution where throughput requirements are higher than can be served by a miniload, yet not requiring the high dynamics provided by the OLS range.

Transdek’s innovative double deck solutions take centre stage at IMHX 2016
