PRODUCTS PARTS CLEANING & FINISHING MODULAR AUTOMATION GRINDING/DEBURRING

Ellesco is now official UK distribution agent for the Peitzmeier-Maschinenbau range of grinding machines for processing the surfaces of metal products which will enable customers to add automation systems and extend the dimensions of the machine to suit their changing needs. The OMNI-Grind Product Portfolio includes standard machines up to process oriented solutions with two modular machine types available. The OMNI-Grind Twin is a twin-belt grinding

machine for flexible and efficient processing of small to medium sized parts. Available with a table width of

2, 3, 4 or 5m it has the option of a 1 or 2m table width; the height can be adjusted from 0.7 to 1.2m. This modular system allows the individual configuration of the grinding machine to exact processing needs including grinding, polishing, deburring and bevelling parts. Automation of this machine is configurable and

varies from a manual table drive and programmable tools to automatic part processing. The control and all modules can be configured and retrofitted at any time. The OMNI-Grind Twin offers maximum working space for the operator with its trapezoid belt guiding system and with no transmission below the table, access is enhanced while the cantilever design of the grinding device permits the machining of parts longer than the table width. The grinding device is driven with a powerful 5.5kW motor mounted upon an extremely robust machine frame that weighs 3 tonnes. Complementing the Twin machine is the OMNI-Grind Portal offered with a 2 to 5m table length with a width of 1 or 2m. This can accommodate larger parts through the height adjustment from 1.5 to 2.5m. The parts can be handled via the swivelling device of a scissor-lift table.

ULTRASONIC CLEANING

With its SONOPOWER 3S system for 25/50 kHz Weber Ultrasonics presents an innovative ultrasonic solution that enables use of multi-frequency ultrasound in vacuum chamber cleaning systems. The flexibility and range of possible applications of these systems is thus considerably increased. Vacuum-tight submersible transducers with switchable ultrasonic frequencies of 25 and 50 kHz ensure optimised cleaning efficiency for both coarse and fine cleaning. As a result cleanliness specifications can be met efficiently and with a high level of process stability with a single unit, even with a changing or altered parts range. This advantage particularly pays off in component manufacturing in small series which previously often required two cleaning units. The basis of this solution is the

redesigned SONOPOWER 3S multi- frequency ultrasonic generator with up to 3,000 W power output. The plug- and-play device is fully digital and impresses through its maximum process stability and power output and exemplary ease-of-use. The new ultrasonic generator covers a wide range of applications in the field of industrial component cleaning and represents an optimum solution, particularly for the requirements in the field of electroplating.

FAST AND SAFE SWARF REMOVAL

The new RGG cleaning unit from Schunk fits into tool mountings with a 20mm diameter and can be converted into every machine tool configuration. Manually blowing swarf from the work envelope of a machine tool can now be a thing of the past. A small control program can quickly clean the working area, tables and clamping devices, removing all chips. The machine conducts this task faster and more systematically than any machine operator, saving lotss of time. A powerful jet of compressed air

or coolant shoots out of six nozzles of the cleaning unit. The head rotates which ensures that the work surface and inside of the machine are cleaned without endangering the operator from flying chips.

COMPACT PARTS CLEANING SYSTEM

With the EcoCCompact Dürr Ecoclean has developed a versatile full-vacuum system for parts cleaning and corrosion protection with non-halogenated hydrocarbons and modified alcohols. The successor to Compact 80 C/P offers a wide range of options from rapid degreasing through to sophisticated cleaning tasks conforming to exacting cleanliness specifications. Innovative technologies guarantee

Intertronics has introduced the Relyon Plasma PZ2 piezo brush handheld surface treatment unit which is believed to be the smallest cold active plasma device of its kind. The PZ2 piezo brush ionises atmospheric gas to plasma clean

and activate surfaces for improved adhesion or wetting prior to printing or coating. This is especially useful for surfaces that are difficult to bond or print onto. The low temperature plasma discharge is often superior to mechanical or chemical methods of activation/cleaning, especially for delicate parts. The PZ2 piezo brush can activate surfaces prior to the use of adhesives in industries such as electronics, medical devices, automotive, dental and in laboratory and development work. This device aids surface wetting for inkjet or pad printing and encoding for parts across all industries from automotive to consumer and can be considered for sterilising in microbiology, food, medical and pharmaceutical technologies. Using a piezoelectric technology, the device transforms low

input voltage into high electric field strengths, dissociating and ionising the process gas which is normally ambient air. The PZ2 piezo brush is convenient and simple to use, requiring only to be plugged into a mains electricity socket for instant operation.

maximum cleaning efficiency and a targeted reduction in per-unit costs. Extremely compact and easy to operate, the new EcoCCompact looks good and is excellent value for money. Small and medium-sized enterprises in

particular are often faced with the challenge of having to meet different cleaning demands reliably and cost- effectively with a single cleaning system. Fast processing times, high machine

availability and user-friendliness are essential as are short delivery times and environmental compatibility. The EcoCCompact is operated under a full vacuum with non-halogenated hydrocarbons or modified alcohols (polar solvents) and easy to change from one solvent to the next. EcoCCompact will easily adapt to a company’s specific requirements for example from degreasing through pre-washing and intermediate washing right up to fine cleaning.
