IMAGINE A WEEKLONG party that rages through sunrises and sunsets, is set to the tenacious beats of house, techno and trance and culminates in one epic outdoor concert. Such a marathon of music and fun exists— but it’s not for amateurs. To help you find your way around Miami Music Week’s concerts, pool parties and other events—including the 18-year-old Ultra Music Festival—follow our guide to the hottest happenings.


THE STAR


Ultra Music Festival March 24–26 The week’s big event is the longest-running dance-music festival in the U.S. and has been a legend around the world since launching in 1999. Expect three days of DJ sets, performances and all sorts of beats. Who’s playing? (Who isn’t?) Major Lazer, The Prodigy, Justice, Ice Cube, Carl Cox, Steve Aoki and others à Bayfront Park, 301 Biscayne Blvd (ultramusicfestival.com). At various times; $349.95–$1,249.95.


ON THE WATER


Never Get Out of the Boat March 21 Set sail with beats, drinks and giveaways courtesy of Magnetic Grooves, which is run by Melanie Daniel, a Miami Music Week vet who knows how to throw a party. tINI and the Gang ON A BOAT March 24 Drink your fill from a premium open bar while tINI, Berlin’s first lady of house, builds a groove from thin air. Who’s playing? tINI, plus more to be announced à Behind Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Blvd (wanttickets.com). 3pm; $136.25.


LATE NIGHT Ultra Music Festival

Knee Deep in Miami March 24

Eric Prydz Presents Pryda March 25 The man responsible for electronic dance music’s most recognizable drum pattern (that persistent bubbling up before the drop is called “the Pryda snare”) showcases his stuff in an intimate setting—by his standards. Hard 2 Leave March 26


One of the most talked-about events of the week features pole dancers and some of the biggest names in bass rock—a winning combination. Last year saw performances from Carnage and Marshmello. Who’s playing? Performers to be announced à E11EVEN, 29 NE 11 St (305-829-2911). 11pm; price TBA.
