James Guazzo, ex-MFH of De La Brooke Foxhounds W, died on April 8. He was 88. Dr. Guazzo and his wife Shelby moved to St. Mary’s County and raised a fam- ily out of Cre- mona Farm and later out of their own farm in Maddox. Before he retired, Dr. Guazzo was a Board Certifi ed family physician for 40 years and held an offi ce in Chaptico. After he retired from medicine, Dr. Guazzo worked as a substitute teacher for the county. While MFH, he secured the club’s national registration with the Masters of Fox- hounds Association of America. Jerry Burchinal of Freeland died on March 24 at the age of 70. Born in Virginia, Burchi- nal was the sole proprietor of Timberbrook Farm in Freeland. He was a professional horse- man and taught many stu- dents throughout a long career. Burchinal also bred horses at Timberbrook. Anne McNey Drury of Leon-

50. Born in New Jersey, Jackson got her fi rst pony when her family moved to Minnesota. Her love of all things equestrian began there and she went on to become a U.S. Pony Club member and later an instructor. After graduat- ing from Princeton, Jackson attended Harvard Law School where she was fi rst diagnosed with cancer. Despite surgery, radiation and chemotherapy,


Jackson maintained a full course load and graduated Cum Laude. Jackson passed the Bar in New York, Virginia and Washington, DC and started her own practice at Shaw Pittman before moving to O’Melveny & Myers. She then went on to become in house counsel at Freddie Mac and fi nished her law career at the State Department offi ce of the Legal Advisor.
