2019 First Quarter Meeting T e next Quarterly Meeting of the Maryland Horse Council will be on


February 20, 2019, at 4 p.m. at Rosecroft Raceway, Fort Washington, MD. We are fortunate to have Rosecroft sponsor our meeting and a network- ing reception immediately following. Racing will begin at 6:40 p.m. and the Horse Council will have a named race in our honor early in the eve- ning. We invite you and your families to join us for the festivities. Open to all members and prospective MHC members. Please invite all those who support the horse industry in Maryland. Additional details below:

2019 Maryland Legislative Session T e Maryland General Assembly opened its 2019 legislative ses-


sion Wednesday, January 9. T e MHC Legislative Committee is al- ready monitoring bills, and will work hard to stay on top of proposed legislation that may aff ect horses, horse owners, horse farms and horse businesses. Watch this space for updates throughout the session, which runs through April 8th. T ank you to everyone who attended Maryland Horse Industry Day in Annapolis on Tuesday, January 29! It is important to greet fellow horse people and meet our legislators every year. Let’s continue to show ‘em the horsepower of our Maryland horse industry!
