Marylanders’ Big Wins in 2018 Kent County Cup


T is year’s Kent County Cup Award was given to Holly and Steve Isaacson of Friends of Mt. Harmon. T e Isaac- sons have been leaders of the group that manages the historic colonial Mount Harmon Plantation in Earleville, which hosts several equine events throughout the year. In addition, the Isaacsons were key in adding equestrian memberships to the Friends of Mt. Harmon organi- zation and getting the grounds open to trail riders. T e award was presented by last year’s winner, foxhunter Ed Fry.


Tillman Tops Reining Standings


Kimberly Tillman of White Hall slid her way into the top spot in the National Reining Horse Association’s Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 division. She rode her own Mercedes Shines for the win and earned $5,192.15 in 2018. In addition, she and Mercedes Shines were Re- serve Champions in Novice Horse Non Pro Level 1 and fi nished in the Top 10 of Novice Horse Open Level 1.


Fair Hill Heroes


At the conclusion of the Dutta Corp Fair Hill International each October, FHI gives out two important awards that celebrate the people behind the scenes of Maryland’s biggest eventing competition of the year. In 2018, Elkton resident Rupert Rossetti (left) was named FHI Volunteer of the Year, and Dennis and Bobbie Davis (right) of Port Deposit were named FHI Unsung Hero Award winners.


Standardbred Champ


Clarissa Coughlin’s Standardbred Game Day won the Grand Championship at the National Standardbred Show in New Jersey. Shown by Maria Buchanan, Game Day beat out 72 registered Standardbreds in 22 divi- sions. He was competed in the Rookie Division.
