Retirement, a senior living organization with eight communities across Massachusetts. SALMON has a collaboration with Medline for the implementation of the software.


Roswell, Ga.-based Phoenix Senior Living has begun construction of the Phoenix at Dallas, scheduled for completion by March 2022, in Dallas, Ga. The community will include 56 independent living cottages, each 1,200 square feet, and is adjacent to the Pearl at Dallas, a Phoenix memory care community.


RCare, based in Webster, N.Y., has partnered with Nxtgen Care, based in Nova Scotia, Canada, for a new product at the request of a mutual client, Liberty Senior Living, which operates communities in five states. Liberty asked the companies to integrate their prod- ucts, resulting in proprietary algorithms that monitor care trends and measure every human interaction and contact in a care community, to improve resident experience and provide clear data to communities and families.


Salt Lake City-based Stellar Senior Living has transitioned the former Brookdale Carmel Valley, in San Diego, Calif., into Torrey Pines Senior Living, a Stellar Living Community. The continuing care retirement community includes amenities such as all-day dining and transportation. Stellar has previously taken management of Brookdale Bear Creek, in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Brookdale South- gate, in St. George, Utah; and Brookdale Salt Lake City. These were rebranded as Bear Creek Senior Living, Southgate Se- nior Living, and Capitol Hill Senior Living, respectively.


Welltower, based in Toledo, Ohio, has made two transactions with ProMedica. The joint venture will divest a 25-property portfolio of non-strategic skilled nursing facilities for $265 million. The properties, which were acquired through the formation of the Well- tower/ProMedica partnership in 2018, are in eight states and have an average age of 41 years. Second, nine PowerBack rehabilitation facilities, operated by Genesis HealthCare, will be contributed into the joint venture and master-leased to ProMedica. The properties will be branded as ProMedica Senior Care.


In addition to the rehabilitation facilities, Welltower has substantially exited its oper- ating relationship with Genesis, selling 42 skilled nursing facilities for $680 million to a joint venture in which Welltower will retain a participating preferred equity position.

Newhaven Court at Clearview, an Integra- Care community in Butler, Pa., announced two team members have been recognized by the Butler County Healthcare Consortium and the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board. Stephanie Balik, a medication asso- ciate, was named Direct Care Worker of the Year. Jeff Lucco, lead cuisineur at the com- munity, was named Non-Direct Care Worker of the Year.


Integral Senior Living and Solstice Senior Living, based in Carlsbad, Calif., have named Kris Morimoto vice president of risk manage- ment. Morimoto’s career in risk manage- ment includes eight years at Propel Insur- ance and serving as vice president at Marsh Services. She will lead strategic initiatives to manage the group’s insurance programs to optimize coverage options, in addition to developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s risk management program for all community and corporate locations. Integral has also named its Executive Di- rector of the Year for 2020, Andrea Katz, at Oak Cottage of Santa Barbara, Calif.

Lifespace Communities, headquarted in West DesMoines, Iowa, has named Kenneth Poinsette chief information officer. An information technolo- gy leader with more than


25 years of extensive experience, Poinsette has a bachelor of science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the U.S. Army. He earned his MBA from Emory University and a mas- ter of science from Bowie State University.


MatrixCare, based in Bloomington, Minn., has won Best in KLAS for Home Health


EHR (Large) from KLAS Research’s annual Software and Services report for the second year in a row. It earned a score of 88.3, up from last year’s score of 87.1.


Northfield, Ill.-based Medline was named to the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for 2021, an honor based on an indepen- dent, anonymous survey of U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people in their U.S. operation. In addition, Medline president Andy Mills was named one of the 100 most influential peo- ple in health care by Modern Healthcare mag- azine, which also recognized Medline’s $1 million donation to groups fighting racial in- equality. Medline was also named Preferred Supplier of the Year by the University of Texas System Supply Chain Alliance.


PointClickCare Technologies, based in Mis- sissauga, Ontario, has won Best in KLAS for the long-term care software segment for 2021, following up on its award in the same category for 2020. KLAS Research annually rates health care software and services across several market segments.


Solstice Senior Living at Santa Rosa, in Santa Rosa, Calif., has named Chef Jesse Llapitan culinary services director. His background includes being given a Distinguished Chef Award from the American Institute of Food and Wine. Previously, he was senior regional executive chef for Bon Appétit Management Company for Google and several other or- ganizations. He is a graduate of the Califor- nia Culinary Academy in San Francisco and completed his internship at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
