Ramside Spa has become one of the first spas to take on this amazing training programme, enabling therapists and spa staff with the ability to treat and nurture guests undergoing treatment for cancer or post cancer treatment. The Wellness for Cancer Programme was Founded by Julie Bach, who wanted to nurture and care for patients in a way that would make them feel better about themselves, and bring a little bit of normality to their lives.
All therapists have undertaken an intense online training course and practical examination, watching seminars and meeting with oncologists. Ramside Hall offers a variety of adapted personalised treatments for each guest and one of the main focused treatments is the manicure and pedicure.
‘Our adaptation with manicure and pedicure focuses around a private consultation with the therapist about what cancer the guest has and what treatment the guest has had or is having. Whether it’s chemotherapy or radiotherapy and in which area they are affected. We have a standard protocol to follow to deliver this treatment, however it is adapted depending on the guest’s symptoms which the therapist will adhere too.’ Hayley Leith, Treatment Manager
