Get out your diaries and start making plans – here’s your at-a-glance guide to key events around the Trust over the next few months.

It’s not unusual for one team to have overcome a problem that a team elsewhere in the Trust is still struggling with. Or for one person to have the skills someone else needs to solve a problem. Improvement week is

all about making these connections. Throughout the week, we’ll be highlighting and celebrating the 100-plus improvement projects supported by the Trustwide quality improvement (QI) programme since it launched last autumn. And the QI hub team and partners will be providing advice and learning opportunities while they’re out and about.

14 and 19 October Randomised coffee trial

In the coffee shops next to the main receptions at Hammersmith, Charing Cross and St Mary’s hospitals from 10.30-11.30. You’ll be randomly paired with a colleague to have a free coffee and share some of your experiences and ideas about potential improvement projects.

19 October Poster competition

Every improvement project has a story to tell. The poster competition is your opportunity, with a template and support from the QI hub, to share your story. Chief executive Dr Tracey Batten and head of quality improvement Dr Bob Klaber will be announcing the winners to round off the week, from 17.30 in the main building, QEQM building, St Mary’s Hospital.

Autumn QI education programme

If you have an idea for an improvement project then sign up to one of the QI autumn education workshops. A mix of day-long and team-based training and shorter skills series training is available

to all staff. Workshops run until December and details can be found on the QI Source intranet pages. To book into a session or to find out more please email QI.Hub@imperial.nhs.uk
