IBS SLT 2017 | NEW FOCUS AREA - PAYMENT SYSTEMS

Competition in the Payments Systems category was hard fought with Intellect Payments coming out top with six deals, closely followed by Temenos Payments (four), and Infosys’ Finacle (three). Of the 15 deals in the category, 13 were across the developing markets in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Risk Management and Analytics continues to emerge as a major focus area for banks across the regions, with competition having intensified, driven by regulatory developments in recent years. The top three systems accounted for two-thirds of the deals reported in the category. Temenos’ Financial Crime system topped the table with 17. A significant number of these were with banks in Africa and the Americas. Temenos also won eight deals with its Temenos Enterprise & Compli- ance system during the year.

Infrasoft’s OMNIEnterprise CFCS system takes the runner-up spot in the category with 13. More than 75% of these were concentrated in the Middle East region, with the company also making headway in Singapore. We expect competition in this category to intensify over the next year with several niche risk management focused system companies playing a key role in the market.
