Who’s bought what? WHO? First Microfinance Bank Afghanistan WHAT? JMR Infotech’s integration services

Oracle partner and specialist JMR Infotech will implement a range of Oracle FSS’s solu- tions at First Microfinance Bank (FMFB) in Afghanistan. FMFB Afghanistan is one of a network of banks in the emerging markets belong- ing to the Aga Khan Development Agency. In 2014, it carried out a core system

selection together with its sister banks in Tajikistan and Pakistan, to modernise and standardise operations across the group. Oracle FSS’s Flexcube was chosen. Pakistan-based FMFB opted to partner

with a local integrator, Techlogix, in early 2015 for its Flexcube project. In Afghanistan, in addition to Flex-

cube, JMR Infotech will implement Oracle

Financial Solutions Analytical Applications (OFSAA), anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) solutions. ‘After our due diligence, we came to

the conclusion that JMR Infotech can pro- vide the necessary transformation in a quick and efficient manner and prepare us for the opportunities and challenges of the future,’ says Habib ur Rahman, acting CEO at FMFB Afghanistan. The new platform – part of the bank’s

‘technology driven business transforma- tion’ – is expected to enable ‘several key areas, such as new product offerings, tight compliance and cost effective operations’, he adds.

In addition to its own terminals, the vendor’s Probase and Terminal Security software solutions have been deployed in the competitor ATMs that the bank has in its network.
