Evangelical Bible Church Dallas, Oregon Jerry Franz, Pastor We were encouraged to share our faith

during the Christmas season by putting up yard signs that read “Jesus, God’s Giſt to the World.” A couple in our church ordered 100 signs and gave them all out the first two Sun- days they were offered. Te couple purchased

another 100 and gave those away also. What a fun way to show our love for Jesus! Our Missions Committee orchestrated

contributions which were divided between all of our missionaries for a little extra at Christ- mas. Te Missions Committee is also organiz- ing two short-term assignments for the coming year, one to Romania, the other to Bolivia. Te past year we have updated our church

webpage. We would love for you to check it out at www.ebcdallas.org. Te Healthcare Committee has been

active in visiting homebound members. A group meets once a month to assure that all from our church are encouraged, and that they develop skills to improve their individ- ual situations. Tis is an open committee which invites others attend to gain knowl- edge and ideas from those who are already serving in this way.

Jansen Bible Church Jansen, Nebraska Paul Carpenter, Pastor An evening of Southern Gospel music by

the Hitch Family Musicians on Dec. 4 was well-attended by local folk. Tis is the family of Avery Jennings of our church fellowship. Our Christmas program featured ren-

ditions by all our favorite church musicians as well as some of the younger ones training as tomorrow’s worship leaders. A special surprise was a “blast from the past” – a rerun of several numbers from the 1993 Christmas program which our church historian, Sharon Shepard, had prepared. Salem Church Waldheim, Saskatchewan Darrell Derksen, Pastor Several of our young missionaries were

home with us for a bit. On Jan. 8, Shawna Epp reported on her work in South Africa. She is educating women and children about the dan- gers of getting into physical or sexual slavery. She will be heading back to South Africa in April to continue her work. Larissa Wiens and Brynn Willems, along

with three friends from Zambia, arrived in Waldheim on Jan. 30. Tese guests were able to experience some Canadian activities in- cluding a day playing broomball, sleigh rides, and keeping warm by the bonfire. Tey shared their stories at our Testimony Evening entitled “Te Faithful Hand of God.” Te women spoke at our community Women of Wald- heim evening on Feb. 6 and encouraged us all to be women of great impact. Men heard more at a breakfast on Feb. 11. Members were encouraged to invite these guests to their homes for coffee or meals to hear their stories firsthand. We definitely were encouraged by their two-week visit! Our “Every Day in the Word” challenge

began Jan. 16. Together we are following a Bible reading plan. Regular emails from our pastors help us understand and apply what we read. Reading the Word of God will create growth in all of us personally and therefore as a congregation as well. Baptisms: One in January Provided by Salem Church Staff
