HOTEL VERDE – DESTINATION OF FUTURE TRAVELLERS
Verde Hotels: The Future Of Hospitality
erde Hotels is undeniably the most progressive hospitality management group on the globe when it comes to ecologically-conscious design, construction and operational management practices. The hotel management company has a passion for bringing their know-how and experience to the hotel industry and to the rest of the world, offering ground-breaking hospitality solutions that are both Thrivable and creatively innovative.

Thrivability is core to the wider brand strategy of Verde Hotels. It is a relatively new concept that incorporates all that is implied with sustainability, but expands beyond its limitations, encompassing three core values that are assimilated with the triple bottom line: people, profit and planet. It is clear that a thrivable project offers much more commercial viability and a healthy return on investment. The Verde group was born out of the success of Africa’s greenest hotel at Cape Town International airport. During the two years since opening, Hotel Verde has gained local and international acclaim for its innovative technological installations, building methods, procurement and operations. They have enjoyed huge press exposure, publicity and a tremendous following of travellers, companies and new generation sustainable trendsetters.

With the aim to transcend conventional and average hotel buildings and operations, Verde Hotels will ensure that all their hotels are independently assessed and certified by green building authorities, whilst ensuring the comfort and convenience of guests is always top priority. With this, Verde Hotels has clinched the niche of green hospitality – a direction hospitality needs to go into the future. Hotels managed by Verde Hotels will
offer carbon neutral accommodation and conferencing to their guests at no additional cost. Their hotels will be a place where sustainability meets luxury and creativity, an oasis and breakaway that epitomizes a brand mix of cosmopolitan style and natural outdoor lifestyle, thus synergising with the natural environments in which they are built. Whilst hotels may differ in their look and feel, local art and educational signage that communicates an environmental message will also be a focal point and standard hotel feature. Hotels will thus aim to be flagships for responsible tourism and education in sustainability. Building on their success, numerous awards and the publication of their first Thrivability report, Verde Hotels is currently bringing more green hotel projects to the industry. Hotels are planned for Ghana, Tanzania and South Africa.
Hotel Verde, the greenest hotel on the African continent and the only hotel in the world to be awarded double Platinum Certification for LEED™ by the United States Green Building Council and first hotel to be awarded the highest accolade of a 6 Star rating in the Green Building Council of South Africa rating tool, and is conveniently situated only 400m from Cape Town International Airport. The award-winning 4-star hotel provides cutting-edge innovations and technologies pertaining to eco-friendly building practices, sustainable operations, as well as responsible utilization and efficiency of electricity and water. Together with the expertise of consulting firm Ecolution, Andre Harms has achieved phenomenal success in the building efficiency, ensuring that the hotel operates at a third of the cost of a conventional hotel. The return on the investment in technology within the first 5 years of opening proves that a luxurious, sustainable hotel is profitable and successful.
