China Departures Must Show Negative Covid Test Before Boarding Flights to UK
AIRLINES will be required to check if passengers travelling from China carry a negative covid test prior to departure; this is according to the UK Government. This comes after Beijing removed the majority of its strict covid restrictions after long periods of protests broke out across china; this is despite the apparent surge of covid cases found within the country. Despite having to test prior to boarding flights to the UK, arrivals who test positive for covid-19 in England will not be required to self-isolate. This was confirmed by the UK’s transport secretary. The decision, however, will only affect England; travel to other parts of the UK is seen as a devolved matter and therefore must be appointed by the relevant governing bodies. England is the only country in the UK with direct flights landing from China.
