Türkiye has revealed that it is on track to welcome three million visitors from the UK in 2022 – the highest number of UK visitors to the country since records began. Tourism statistics unveiled by the Turkish Government show that in the first nine months of 2022, Türkiye received 2.8 million UK visitors. This surpasses the 2.56 million UK travellers who visited Türkiye throughout all of 2019, and puts the country on track to greatly exceed their original 2022 UK target of 2.5 million visitors by the end of this year. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Republic of Türkiye Minister of Culture and Tourism, says: “Going into 2022, we already had great confidence in the UK market. These numbers not only exemplify the importance of the UK to Türkiye but highlight our country’s appeal as a year round destination for British visitors.” Analysis from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism shows that Türkiye’s worldwide visitor numbers will finish this year on par or slightly above levels in 2019 – which previously held the
record. As a result, Türkiye is again revising upwards its target for 2022 from 47 million to 50 million visitors. The Minister will be present at World Travel
Market 2022 to share important insights on Türkiye’s tourism strategy for 2023 with its key UK travel partners. Minister Ersoy adds: “2023 is an important
year for Türkiye as the first stage of our world- leading national programme with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council comes into effect. This is one of many exciting developments and follows the recent launch of the Michelin Guide Istanbul in which over 50 leading restaurants were featured.” Türkiye’s 594m2 pavilion stand will be in
the EUROPE hall at stand number EU1300, under the auspices of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). At the stand, there are 63 sub- participating institutions: including hotels, travel agencies and wider travel associations.

Sustainability is at the core of Finnair’s strategy, with the carrier aiming to have cut emissions by 50%* by 2025 and be carbon neutral by the end of 2045.

who link their Executive Club and Uber accounts via the Uber app will receive 250 bonus Avios. Avios is a global loyalty currency used by airlines including British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Qatar Airways. It can be collected by flying worldwide and through everyday spending, with Uber becoming the latest addition to the British Airways Executive Club to help boost travellers’ balances. Users simply need to link their Executive Club
and Uber accounts, by entering their details into the Uber app in the settings section. To sign up to the British Airways Executive Club, visit www.
britishairways.com/executive-club. The Avios will then automatically appear in each Member’s account after every Uber ride. Avios can be used as part-payment towards Reward Flights, with British Airways guaranteeing a minimum of 14 Reward Seats on every long-haul flight, and 12 on every short- haul flight, to and from London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Members can fly from as little as £1 and 18,500 Avios, which is enough for an off-peak economy return flight to more than 40 destinations in Europe.
