Night Vision Awards Honor NVG Operators at ALEA 2015
The Night Vision Awards recently held in conjunction with the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA) Expo in Houston, Texas, honored various departments and organizations on their accomplishments using night vision goggle equipment.
The Night Vision Awards were co-hosted by Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU), Night Flight Concepts, (NFC), Vertical magazine and Rotorcraft Pro magazine.

The following honors were awarded at the event: 5-Year Service Awards were awarded Service Air Support Unit; 10-Year Service Award was awarded to Texas Department of Public Safety; 15-Year Service Award was awarded to Santa Barbara County Air Support; 20-Year Service Awards were awarded to Air Methods Corporation and Arizona Department of Public Safety Air Rescue Unit. The Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit received an award for community awareness.
Night Flight Concepts (NFC) recently announced the beginning of L.E.A.S.E.: Law Enforcement Air Support Entity. L.E.A.S.E. is a program designed to to new aircraft, state-of-the-art support packages, and all of the latest equipment budgets have become more constrained, the ability of law enforcement agencies to gain and maintain airborne support has diminished while the need for these units has continued to grow.
NFC works thru a very simple process that is controlled by the law enforcement agency. The agency simply selects the aircraft of their choice based upon performance, mission needs, and costs. Consideration of which aircraft to choose may also be based upon availability of the aircraft or other special needs that the agency is attempting to address.
