Adding glass fibre Amut has developed a new extrusion line for producing polypropylene (PP) pipe with glass fibres and mineral filler (calcium carbonate or barium sulphate) – which is used for hot water piping and soundproofing drainage piping.
The glass fibres improve the elastic and mechanical
properties of the material, while allowing reduced pipe thickness, and equivalent resistance and thermal expansion. The line has a range of diameters from 16 to 200 mm, with SDR 6–11. The newly designed three- layer co-extrusion head allows a configuration A-B-A or A-B-C with external coloured stripes. The co-extrusion line configuration comprises four

Super performance US-based extrusion specialist Rotuba Extruders is to add five more Super Blue extruders from Davis-Stand- ard this year – with more planned for the near future. “Our first Super Blue was delivered in one week and

The extruder is equipped with features including: low noise, high torque double-reduction gearbox; cast aluminum finned heaters bolted to the barrel; AC drive and motor; and a high capacity air cooling system.
Lean machinery Battenfeld-Cincinnatti exhibited its LeanEx and TwinEx pipe extrusion machines at this year’s Chinaplas exhibition.
The main feature was the LeanEx series, which is designed for standard PO pipe extrusion. Complete lines are available for diameters up to 630mm. During the exhibition, the company presented the largest of its three sizes – the LeanEx 90. LeanEx single screw extruders are built at Battenfeld- Cincinnati China using European technology, selected European components and locally sourced screws, barrels and motors. The three available extruder sizes of 60, 75 and 90mm provide high performance with low energy consumption, says the company. Outputs range from 350- 800kg/h for HDPE and
280-600kg/h for PP-R. The second extruder exhibited was the twin screw
