Things to Do

YOUR PERFECT WEEKEND Lincoln Park

FRIDAY

Noon: Kick the weekend off at Athenian Room (807 W Webster Ave; 773-348-5155), a favorite of Lincoln Park residents. The lamb and beef gyros are a must—whether in pita bread, atop a Greek salad or simply piled on a platter. 2pm: Tucked away under the Fullerton El tracks, the DePaul Art Museum (935 W Fullerton Ave; 773-325-7506, museums .depaul.edu) houses eclectic, rotating exhibitions that are curated with exceptional care. 7pm: Sushi has never looked prettier than at Juno (2638 N Lincoln Ave; 773-935-2000, junosushichicago.com). 9pm: Do a mini Lincoln Avenue bar crawl. Dig into the impressive cocktail menu at the Barrelhouse Flat (2624 N Lincoln Ave; 773-857-0421, barrelhouseflat.com), then explore the extensive beer and whiskey lists at Delilah’s (2771 N Lincoln Ave; 773-472-2771, delilahschicago.com).

SATURDAY

11am: Power through your hangover from last night’s drinks at de Quay (2470 N Lincoln Ave; 872- 206-8820, dequay-chicago.com), where Indonesian and Dutch flavors join forces to create one of Chicago’s most delicious brunches. 1pm: Visit Lincoln Park Zoo (2001 N Clark St; 312-742-2000, lpzoo.org) or, if it’s chilly out, the Conservatory. It’s a stereotypical Lincoln Park activity, yes, but there’s no denying the park’s

loveliness. Plus, it’s free!

6pm: All other Chicago deep dish pizzas can take a seat; Pequod’s Pizza (2207 N Clybourn Ave; 773-327-1512, pequodspizza.com) indisputably reigns supreme (but be prepared to wait). 8pm: Catch some homegrown comedy at iO Chicago (1501 N Kingsbury St; 312-929-2401, ioimprov.com/chicago). The Improvised Shakespeare Company is always a solid choice, but don’t forget to check out the complete list of shows.

SUNDAY

11am: French pastries first thing in the morning? Yes, please. Floriole (1220 W Webster Ave; 773-883-1313, floriole.com) satisfies all your wildest croissant dreams.

1pm: Take a stroll down Armitage Avenue for some window shopping—or, dare we suggest, actual shopping—at spots like Art Effect Boutique (934 W Armitage Ave; 773-929-3600, shoparteffect.com) and Lori’s (824 W Armitage Ave; 240-479-2474, lorisshoes.com). 4pm: Cap off your weekend with an afternoon cocktail at J. Parker (1816 N Clark St; 312-254-4747, jparkerchicago .com), situated on top of the Hotel Lincoln. Have your very own “everything the light touches is yours” moment while gazing out over Lincoln Park. ■Grace Perry
