The town centre hosts an array of shops from recognised high street brands to independents. The local area also has a number of out-of-town retail parks and shopping villages offering convenient shopping locations throughout the county. Northampton’s market square, which dates back to 1235 and is one of the oldest squares in England, is a focal point for regular outdoor events, hosting music, dance and drama events throughout the year.


Steeped in history, the county of Northamptonshire boasts sweeping gardens and stately homes including Althorp, Holdenby House, Kirby Hall, Boughton House and Rockingham Castle.
