Matt completed his internship and residency in general surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. During his time in New York, he completed a three-year research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, focusing his efforts on genomic research in mesothelioma and lung cancer. In June 2015, Matt com- pleted his thoracic surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
