IF YOU COULD INVENT ONE PRODUCT TO MAKE YOUR JOB EASIER, WHAT
WOULD IT BE? A rapid-setting ready mixed adhesive to fix all sizes of tiles.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? After leaving school at the age of
16, I started an apprenticeship with a tile fixing company in Stoke-on-Trent, called Hamil Tiles.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE TILING INDUSTRY?
I went straight from school to work with Hamil Tiles, spending one week a month at college in Manchester and three weeks on the job. I had to travel to Manchester because no local colleges at the time did wall and floor tiling.
WHO, IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY, DO YOU MOST
ADMIRE? Bill Gates – an inspiration through his successful business career and charitable foundation.

IF MONEY WAS NO OBJECT, WHAT CAR
WOULD YOU BUY? Something sporty and a convertible, maybe an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE
GROWING UP? From an early age I was always doing practical jobs around the house with my father, I always wanted to do a
practical trade, bricklaying or joinery, I later found out that my father and uncle with both tile slabbers.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO UNWIND?
I like to keep active and go out socialising with friends, but I do like to put my feet up and watch a good film.
IF YOU COULD HOST A DINNER PARTY WITH ANY
THREE GUESTS, DEAD OR ALIVE WHO WOULD THEY BE
AND WHY? Freddie Mercury from Queen because he is a great entertainer, Andy Bell and Vince Clark from Erasure - their music has featured through most of my adult life and has lots of memories associated with it, including the first dance at my wedding.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO
AND WHY? Back to Mumbai, India, but as a holiday instead of when I worked there, to be able to see more of the sights.

HAVE EVER SOLD?” I don’t work in sales, so I couldn’t tell you the most expensive thing we have ever sold as a company; but, personally, I sold my house last year and that was definitely the most expensive thing I have ever sold!
