TRESCAL OPENS £2MILLION MEASUREMENT AND CALIBRATION FACILITY IN
THE EAST MIDLANDS Trescal, specialist provider of global calibration and measurement solutions, has recently opened the doors to its brand new facility in Derby – the UK’s only UKAS accredited rotary table Measurement Testing facility.
Located at Pride Park, the 25,000ft² facility cost more than £2million to build and features the UK’s largest coordinate measuring machine (CMM) with rotary table measurement. Offering measurement volumes of 2.1x4.4x1.6m, the CMM allows component parts of up to 10 metric tonnes to be measured – ideal for the aerospace and automotive industries.
The site features six laboratories, all operating under strict climatic conditions, in order to meet rigorous standards set by UKAS. The facility took around seven months to complete, and is now home to 46 employees.
