The course follows a blended learning approach, comprising two interactive distance learning units and two days at a specially equipped training centre.
What’s more, in 2015 RoSPA is offering manual handling training at a wide variety of venues. In April there are courses running in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London, while later in the year, there will be courses taking place in Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich and Nottingham.
“Employers have a legal duty to prevent manual handling injuries, but navigating through all the options for training can be a challenge,” said Frances Richardson. “Designating certain employees to be manual handling trainers for their colleagues means organisations can benefit from high-quality and cost-effective training.
“RoSPA is immensely proud to have BTEC Level 3 accreditation for our Manual Handling Trainers Course. We believe the course represents the pinnacle in best practice for those who will pass on their skills to others.

The course is particularly suitable for safety practitioners, managers, supervisors, team leaders and anyone else who is responsible for giving instruction, training, supervision and mentoring in manual handling techniques, regardless of industry sector.
RoSPA also offers a Safer People Handling Trainers course with BTEC Level 4 accreditation. This course is for managers, supervisors and those responsible for educating others in the moving and handling of people, for example within the health or social care industry and education sector. It will use a flexible approach suitable for all sectors that move or handle people and will teach how to “handle people with dignity.”
