AN A-LIST PARTNERSHIP
Arco tell us more about their offical working relationship with The O2, and shine a light on the plethora of celebrities they have assisted to the summit of the iconic London venue.
Most suppliers of any product or service would like to describe their relationships with their customers as ‘partnerships’ but in reality, to most customers they are still regarded simply as the ‘supplier’. Becoming a true partner in any business relationship is a two-way process and develops over time building on trust, honesty, mutual understanding and a commitment from the supplier to offer the customer solutions that genuinely meet their needs.
When it comes to the responsibility of keeping people safe at work and protecting business reputation, a trusted safety partner, who can provide expert advice and guidance, is critical.
UK safety company Arco has the country’s largest dedicated team of NEBOSH qualified experts, to provide customers with both practical advice and guidance, as well as a range of safety products and training services to keep people safe. When the world’s biggest-selling entertainment venue, the O2, needed a safety partner they could trust, Arco were their first port of call.
One of Arco’s main responsibilities as the Official Safety Equipment Partner of the O2 is the design and supply of bespoke equipment to keep visitors enjoying the ‘Up at The O2’ climb experience safely. The specially-designed equipment includes a one piece all-weather climb suit with snag-proof, windproof and waterproof protection features, as well as safety harnesses and high grip climb boots.
In addition to ensuring the safety of visitors taking on the challenge, Arco have also assisted a number of popular TV personalities who have completed the ascent during filming. Last year, Good Morning Britain’s meteorologist and weather presenter, Laura Tobin, conducted her Monday morning weather report at the top of the Up at

the O2 climb, as part of her ‘Top of the Morning’ weather reporting challenges.
Adding to Arco and The O2’s celebrity clientele, the presenters of The Sunday Politics Show also required safety and assistance as they filmed a segment of the weekend programme. The show discussed Sadiq Khan’s first year as Mayor and how his premiership has affected the city’s pollution issues.
Lydia Bright, Chloe Lewis and Bobby Norris from ITV’s reality TV show, The Only Way is Essex last month filmed a scene for the new season at the top of the O2 and were seen sporting Arco’s safety one piece all-weather climb suit and harnesses.
The O2 was also delighted to welcome Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) Russian newcomer Daniil Medvedev, who accomplished the climb whilst on his visit to the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. The 20-year-old has also been named Tecnifibre Young Gun on the Road 2016, so it was down to Arco to ensure his complete safety during the afternoon.
Most recently, Arco was proud to assist this year’s BRIT Awards’ hosts, Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis, to the top of the O2 as the pair kicked off the highly anticipated 2017 British music awards. The duo introduced this year’s awards in a pre-recorded scene filmed at the top of the iconic, London venue – at 52 metres high, it was no small feat. Arco secured and harnessed the BRIT hosts, ensuring their safety throughout filming.
