Hello and welcome to the May issue of Tomorrow’s FM. We’re very excited here at TFM HQ - if a little rosy nosed and cheeked - as the sun is finally shining. To celebrate the return of the fair weather I spent the weekend attempting to revive my garden with some much-needed TLC and maintenance.

I’m not the only one who’s looking to make some summer changes this month, as we find out in our Summer Maintenance section. We’re covering everything from landscaping projects to roofing repairs, to make sure you have all the information you need to undertake your facility’s summer sprucing.

To ensure things run without a hitch, we have top tips and advice on generator repair and maintenance in our Power Supplies & Generators features, so there should be no more unexpected downtime for your businesses.

Elsewhere in the issue we have a new section on Meeting & Conference Facilities, to help prevent brawls over boardrooms and confusion over conferences; there are details on everything, including organising your catering and introducing scheduling software, to optimise time and space efficiency.

And as things get warmer, it is a good time to ensure pests aren’t creeping through cracked windows or drainpipes; our Pest Control section will advise on how to prevent cockroaches in the kitchen and keep the rodents from the rafters.

Finally, we have all the need-to-know info ahead of Facilities Show 2017 in June. With a list of exhibitors, details on what to expect and who to see, plus the timetable of keynote speakers, including Professor Brian Cox, Dame Kelly Holmes and Simon Weston OBE; so be sure to check out our show preview section – and don’t forget to register!
