cleaners and disinfects using only tap water, salt and electricity – and produced on site for less than a penny per litre. The cleaners produced are not only capable of cleaning carpets but also all hard surfaces, making them ideal for all areas in a shopping centre.
Once cleaned the Oztek Team utilises the most commonly adopted method for testing the cleanliness a surface – certified cleaning! The system is used throughout the world for its sensitivity, speed and convenience and by using it, Oztek is able to certify the level of cleanliness using this test method ‘on-site’ at the time of the clean. These results can also be correlated with scientific test results produced with the University of West of England Biology Department, Bristol, using the Oztek and ECA water system.
The Oztek Oscillation machine, originally developed in the USA, has been modified for the UK market into a smaller compact unit with a highly efficient and stable 40kg cleaning head, working at an oscillating head speed of 1750rpm. The Oztek maximises the efficiency of the oscillation process enabling the system to generate amazing results on the most demanding and contaminated carpet and floor surfaces. The machine features a multi-adjustable handle, 10” wheels, a 10 litre tank for ECA water and a 1HP motor. Bespoke branding and colour options are available.
SEEING IS BELIEVING Whilst the Oztek system has only
recently been introduced into the UK it has already been used on a number of different types of ‘problem’ cleaning projects including a national retailer organisation who have historically used a dry cleaning carpet extraction system to clean the carpets tiles throughout their busy stores.
This has previously involved the cleaning team arriving on site around 7am to complete the extraction of built in dirt through vacuuming of the entrance areas prior to cleaning. The cleans have been completed during the day time with minimum disruption to customers and, have typically, generated excellent results. However, since introducing the

Oztek system the contractors can now be off-site before the stores open to the public. This causes minimal disruption for the staff and no disruption at all for the customers.
Another example of the speed and efficiency of the Oztek was a recent project undertaken at a large church theatre in Southampton where 800m² of carpet are cleaned once a month. The project here was commissioned to demonstrate a faster and more efficient clean for the client and as a demonstration for the contract cleaning company of how the Oztek system could save them both time and a hugely valuable asset — the carpet!
The theatre carpet was typical of a
well trafficked carpet, but the level of contamination was probably a lot higher than expected considering the monthly clean. The process was simple, two runs with the Oztek over the carpet using slightly different microfibre pads, cleaning and absorbing moisture and soil as it passed. Spots and marks together with generally heavy soiling were removed with ease and in approx 2.5 hours compared to the monthly clean that took 10 hours using traditional cleaning methods. The results were outstanding and visitors and staff even asked if new carpets had been laid in the theatre.
