THE FLOORING SHOW

THE TRENDS HUB This year the Trends Hub team,

headed up by Scarlett Opus, will create a Flooring Retail Outlet of the Future’. The design and layout will be focused on what the consumer wants and needs. There will be a seminar explaining the key points about the shop concept on the Sunday morning.

The idea is to provide some ideas primarily for independent flooring retailers to take home and make some positive changes to their business. In an environment where major national chains have been introducing marketing and investment plans to target a wider range of consumers, the Hub will provide features, ideas and examples to help independent retailers continue to develop their own offerings.

This project is supported by Adam Carpets, Interfloor, Interface, Concept Handtufting, British Ceramic Tile and The Stocklist with the brand new Vizifloor, augmented reality tool.

SEMINAR PROGRAMMES Taking part in the Business Enrichment

Theatre, the seminar programmes will provide a great opportunity for retailers and other show attendees to take away some business improvement actions that can be implemented without cost, the very next day.

HOUZZ, the fastest growing interior design website in the world, will be leading design seminars. As Vanessa Brady OBE, Founder of the SBID (Society of British and International Design) will return to the show for what will be a fascinating session on how to sell flooring to interior designers.

Ever popular David Abbott will base his talk on best pricing. Other topics to be covered include future consumers and retailing, website building, carpet recycling, social media, flooring visualisation software, interior trends and wool, blogging to increase sales, and flooring design trends for 2016.

ACCOMMODATION It is expected that accommodation will

be tighter than usual this year because of the increased size of the show, and the fact that the large Harrogate Autumn Flower Show is also open on Sunday 20 September. Room stocks at some hotels are already running low, so visitors shouldn’t hesitate to book now. The show’s accommodation agents have already block-booked a number of rooms at advantageous prices, you can find more information here.

NICF COMPETITION The NICF is again running a competition

on its stand in Hall B – ‘Find the Fault – Carpet’. The prize package this year has been donated by three companies and includes 1000 triple facet blades kindly donated by Personna, a tool bag kindly donated by Janser Ltd and GT Extendable Knee Kicker and a Deluxe Heatbond Iron kindly donated by Roberts.

Visit the show website for more information and register to attend the show free of charge.
