MORCLEAN PICK UP ANOTHER GREEN WORLD AWARD FOR
BIN WASH MACHINE Morclean has won another Green World Environment Award for their trailer-mounted Bin Wash machine in the international campaign to find the world's greenest countries, companies and communities.
They competed against more than 500 other nominations in the Green World Awards for Environmental Best Practice.
Simpro Handling Equipment, based in Onehunga, Auckland, who are the authorised dealer for the Bin Wash machine in New Zealand, were presented with the trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation ceremony in Christchurch on October 19th 2015.
As a result of this Green World Award success, the company has been invited to have their winning paper published in The Green Book, the leading international work of reference on environmental best practice, so that others around the world can
FRENCH COMPANIES LEAD THE WAY AT SUSTAINABILITY
AWARDS Five French cleaning companies were celebrating last month after the French Federation of Cleaning Contractors (FEP) presented its Sustainable Development Awards in Paris.
These awards were aimed at showcasing some of the work that cleaning and facilities management companies across France have put into making their business more sustainable, not only in terms of their carbon footprint, but their Corporate Social Responsibility as well.
The first prize – in the Employee Skill Development category – was awarded to Bruno Fradin. The small company

The awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an international, independent, non-political, non- activist, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.

The award for the Accident Prevention category went to Rhonis, who have put various methods in place – including an on-site occupational physician and training under the guidance of an osteopath – to prevent musculoskeletal injuries. This move has paid off, with no sick leave being recorded during 2014, and staff turnover dropping to just 3%.
Two companies – GSF and SNEG – won the Jury Special Award. Both businesses have implemented new environmentally-conscious strategies, with GSF developing an environmental calculator for quantifying the impact

The final company to be awarded was Saturne Services, who received the Special Jury Award under the heading ‘Global Approach to Company Social Responsibility’. The business had trained its employees in the best cleaning techniques in terms of environmental impact (using eco- labelled products, correct dosing of chemicals, etc), as well as taking measures in training staff in keeping with FEP’s recommendations, drafting a Company Social Responsibility charter and observing the provisions of the United Nations Global Compact.
