PIZZA EXPRESS International restaurant chain, Pizza Express, has selected the brand-new Moduleo Moods flooring collection for the latest refurbishment of its Bullring Birmingham eatery.
Bespoke black and white shades of the manufacturer’s Azuriet products were produced and fitted in a unique chevron design throughout the restaurant, in addition to large Classic Oak planks.
Rob Weller, head of design at Pizza Express, explains: “As you can imagine, slip-resistance and durability are a priority for us. Not only did Moduleo fit the bill perfectly in these two areas, but the products are stunning and provide the striking, high-quality finish we aim for in all of our restaurants.”
Matthew Fletcher, designer at Fusion by Design who worked on the project, comments: “We have used the Moduleo Moods collection on a number of projects in the hospitality sector in recent months, and it never fails to impress us. The design possibilities are endless and, as it was crucial that the flooring had a slip- resistance rating of R10, Moduleo was the clear choice.”

The Moduleo Moods collection offers a creative studio through which ten brand-new flooring formats can be used. Up to 110 unique wood and stone-effect designs can be created using the wide range of tile shapes available including: hexagons, chevrons, triangles and diamonds.
David Bigland, managing director at Moduleo UK and Eire, adds: “It’s great to have partnered with Fusion by Design on another exciting project, following our work on Youngs’ Pubs’ Lass O’Richmond Hill pub, in Surrey, earlier this year.
“Pizza Express has a footfall of thousands week-on-week, so it’s real testament to the product’s quality and durability that it’s been chosen for an area of this profile and nature.”
Moduleo’s flooring is renowned for its outstanding features. All products are excellent insulators of heat and sound, easy-to-clean, scuff and stain-resistant, and made of up to 50 per cent recycled material, making them the perfect choice for the eco-conscious.
