Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS comes as a two-part hybrid solution, the mixing of these two unique components maximises the high strength of the adhesive and makes it suitable for use in service conditions where temperatures can fluctuate between -20°C and +60°C, in accordance with floorcovering manufacturers’ recommendations. The new adhesive joins the ranks amongst F. Ball’s famous Yellow Bucket range, as with all F. Ball products, it is a direct result of years of innovation, feedback and hard work.
Designed especially for use in conservatories, areas where floor to ceiling windows are installed and other areas where floorcoverings must be tolerant of extreme temperature variations, it gives a strong initial tack and high bond strength. It is protected against bio-degradation and is suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems. The unique adhesive provides an extremely strong water-resistant bond enabling application in areas subject to water/high humidity when used in conjunction with a suitable smoothing underlayment. It can also be used for securing a wide range of PVC floorcoverings in both tile and sheet format. When installing sheet floorcoverings, F. Ball recommends installing while the adhesive is wet; the subfloor must be absorbent to allow drying of the adhesive.
Proper subfloor preparation is essential for the correct installation of any floorcovering. Once the subfloors are structurally sound, smooth, dry and free from all surface contaminants which will affect adhesion, F. Ball recommends using their approved Digital Hygrometer to measure the Relative Humidity of the subfloor. Where the RH value is greater than 75% the appropriate Stopgap waterproof surface membrane should be applied as excess moisture in the floor could result in blistering of the floorcovering or complete failure of the flooring installation.

screeds must be fully cured and any laitance or surface treatments must be removed. The temperature of the floor must also be maintained above 10°C throughout the application and drying of the adhesive.
