ISSA/INTERCLEAN PREVIEW

THE SHOW MUST GO ON

Now only a month away, the biggest event in the cleaning industry calendar is almost upon us. Here, we take a special sneak preview of what to expect at this year’s ISSA/Interclean show.

It’s the show that everyone talks about, the big one, the main event, and other such clichés – yes, ISSA/ Interclean Amsterdam is almost ready to open its doors to the cleaning world. Attracting exhibitors from as far afield as China, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Australia, as well as right across Europe, the Amsterdam show, held in the Dutch capital’s RAI centre from 10-13th May, is widely regarded as ‘the’ showpiece event for the cleaning industry, and I’m delighted to say that Tomorrow’s Cleaning will be there, reporting live from the exhibition floor.

Ever since I began working for this magazine, people have been telling me about the Amsterdam show, saying that there’s nothing else like it in the industry, I won’t believe how big it is, and that I’ll need a comfortable pair of shoes! So it’s fantastic to finally be going. And while my trip to London for the Cleaning Show last year may have been a bit of an appetiser of trade show life, I’m definitely ready to get stuck into the main course.

Here, you’ll find a handy Preview of the show, with what we hope will be some useful information about the event itself, and some of the key exhibitors. Granted, we’ve not been able to speak to all of the 750-plus companies that will be exhibiting, but over the next few pages you’ll find just some of the big names that’ll be sure to grab your

attention on the day. Be sure to check back in May for our larger Show Guide as the excitement levels in TCHQ will well and truly have hit fever pitch!

NEW THIS YEAR Trade shows are widely seen as being the ideal place to network and create new business connections, and ISSA/ Interclean Amsterdam is, of course, no exception. The four-day event offers the perfect opportunity to talk to prospective clients from all around the world, while also acting as a platform for thousands of new products and innovations to be launched into the marketplace.

Organisers have clearly recognised this opportunity with the introduction of a brand new InnovationLAB at this year’s show. This new area has been described as the ‘central stage for all innovation at the show’, hosting seminars, workshops, debates and presentations across the four days. It will also showcase the nominated products of this year’s Innovation Award, and house a special ‘Robot Arena’, looking at the latest robot- cleaners and smart technologies on offer in the industry.

The InnovationLab is situated in Hall 9 and is bound to be one of the ‘must- see’ areas of this year’s show.
