University Board of Trustees member John C. Kennedy announced the creation of a scholarship for Grand Valley engineering students. The Autocam Engineering Scholarship was designed to encourage students who are interested in practical engineering and to raise awareness among students about advanced manufacturing. “John is passionate about Grand Valley


and wanted to do something to support the community and support the engineering and manufacturing fields in West Michigan,” says Steve Heethuis, training director for Autocam. In addition to the scholarship, students have the chance for internship and co-op opportunities with the company. Leah Bauer was one of the first recipients of the scholarship, and says the impact of the award and co-op prepared her for life outside of Grand Valley.
