TOWERPINKSTER TowerPinkster, an architectural firm based out
of Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo, is one of the most recent companies to offer a scholarship opportunity to Grand Valley students. Vice Chairman Arnie Mikon says the local talent Grand Valley has been developing is impressive and fueled the company’s desire to cultivate a partnership. “The engineering co-op program really prepares
students to enter the workplace and makes Grand Valley graduates easy to hire,” he states.
“We understand how every dollar counts to them, and we want to help reduce their debt and give them a leg up in the workforce.” The 83-person team currently employs two
recent Grand Valley graduates and has three Grand Valley student interns. “We want to foster local talent,” says Green.
“We want to give back and be supportive of the West Michigan community and our profession.”
“It was important to us to create a component for helping kids get
through school.” - ARNIE MIKON
President and CEO Bjorn Green adds, “Grand
Valley is absolutely preparing students for a great career path – the co-op program gives real world experience not often available at other universities.” The TowerPinkster Engineering Scholarship
was created because of the firm’s passion for supporting their community and to support and encourage interest in the architectural field of engineering. “It was important to us to create a component for helping kids get through school,” says Mikon.
