Dealing with complaints

SEE THE LIGHT: Residents’ gardens are brighter after the removal of over grown trees and bushes (right)

Change is ‘unbelievable’ Residents delighted with garden improvements

E

NVIRONMENTAL staff are delighting customers across Glasgow as they carry out winter maintenance in back

court areas. During the summer months, our

environmental team is out cutting grass, weeding and maintaining shared garden areas.

But during the winter, while the grass doesn’t need cut, they have a chance to cut back or clear away overgrown trees and bushes, helping to reclaim some garden space in back court areas. In fact, three blocks in Craigton in Glasgow have almost doubled the size of their gardens thanks to the work the environmental team has done. The results means there will be much

more light getting into the garden area, more space for children to play and it will also be easier to maintain in the summer. Environmental team leader Kevin Green

(pictured right) said: “Our environmental service is not just about cutting the grass in the summer months. It’s about improving the environment around our customers’ homes and giving them a green space that they can really enjoy. We’ll continue the improvements into spring time when we will plant grass seed to expand the grassed areas.”

Local resident John Currie, whose home overlooks the area the team has transformed, said: “It’s unbelievable to see the change it has made. The team has cleared away old and overgrown bushes and has uncovered things we didn’t know were here. There’s a hut we can now see that I’ve never seen before and I’ve been here 37 years! “Kevin and his team

have done a fantastic job and I can’t praise them highly enough. I look forward to spending more time outside I the summer and hope it encourages my neighbours to do the same.”

If you and your neighbours want to sign up for our back court maintenance service, just speak to your factoring agent who will arrange to send forms to everyone in your block. If a majority agree to opt in to the service, we can arrange that for you.

We always want to hear about your experience so that we can learn and respond to the things we don’t do so well. If you complain we will always try to resolve the matter quickly and encourage staff to take responsibility for resolving complaints at the first point of contact.
