In the year to 31 March 2016, SSE paid €15.2m (£11.1m) of taxes in Ireland (2015: €20.1m (£15.9m)).
As mentioned previously, there was a significant drop in profit taxes paid in Ireland between 2014/15 and 2015/16 which was due to the availability of capital allowances in 2015 and 2016 on the Great Island CCGT plant constructed at County Wexford, Ireland.
