Q& A

We catch up with Rebecca Squires, Operations Director at CaterFab — specialists in the development and manufacture of fully welded bars, cocktail bar stations and commercial catering fabrications.

Q A

As always with our Q&A’s it’s in at the deep end. Why should

someone choose CaterFab when looking to install a new bar system?

We have worked in the bar industry for 11 years,

manufacturing for a number of national chains as well as boutique bars and restaurants. The operations of these establishments have taught us a lot about what works and what doesn’t. We have worked on designs with the top cocktail flairers in the business, and their input has been vital in providing us with the knowledge we need to create the perfect cocktail bar. Our slide under cocktail stations were also developed from this, with

Q A

Can a client have an install as bespoke as they wish or are

there rules that have to be adhered to? It’s not as simple as ‘one size fit’s all is it’?

No, it’s not as simple as one size fits all but the principle of a bar set

up is quite uniform. The main limitations or restrictions would be the size of the area, accessibility and workability for the bar tenders and customers alike. The customers budget would also need to be taken into consideration when designing the bar, as a customer with a relatively small budget could get what they want using our modular range, rather than a fully welded set up. This allows us to cater for everyone.

Q

You’re clearly at the forefront of your field. Is it just more of the

same for you guys going forward or are there any developments on the horizon? The USA is a market you’re moving into right?

different options that suit everyone’s needs. Also if you need something a bit different we have the luxury of being the manufacturers so we can change it up to suit your requirements.

Thank you, we strive to be the best we can be and to supply the best

quality products for our customers. Our modular range has been a great success in Europe and recently we shipped a “Deluxe” station to Texas USA. It would be great if this continued and we could supply our units throughout the rest of America and beyond.

We are always looking to develop our modular range to meet the needs of the current trends within the bar industry. We have a range of new stations in production at the moment and we hope to roll these out very soon.

Q A

If a client had a bottomless budget and wanted you to

create something truly bespoke, what would be the ultimate design and install for you?

This is a difficult question as there are so many different possibilities. Ultimately we would want to provide everything that the customer wanted, to achieve the best possible cocktail. As well as a back bar display that has the “wow” factor. It all depends on the look that the customer is going for. Some want a rustic feel whilst others require “bling”. We can cater for all these needs and create the “dream” bar for the customer.
