Welcome to the May issue
It is Carnival Day next month on Saturday 10th June, but it’s not too late if you want to enter the street procession or have a stall. Tickets are also available for the Carnival fundraising Skittles Night later this month – see page 6.
There seems to be a keep fit message this month! Cycle Paths has a great article on page 35, about encouraging the people of Poole to get fitter through cycling with their new club #FixingPoole, or why not sign up for the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride (pg40). Broadstone Physiotherapy & Aquatherapy promotes the new classes in its aquatherapy pool on page 15; Upton Country Park Petanque Group (pg38) is looking for new players; and the Corfe Mullen Health Walk group always welcome new participants (pg40).
It is Hillside Vets’ 20th birthday party on Friday 19th May and they are welcoming old, new and future clients into their practice on Wareham Road to celebrate with a drink and nibbles (pg21).
Also on an animal theme, Margaret Green Animal Rescue is keen for you to wear green (or an animal onesie!) to raise money for their charity during the week of 15th-20th May (pg46). And, if you haven’t already, why not try your luck by entering the Julia’s House weekly lottery? It is a great way to regularly support our local charity, while being in with a chance of winning £1,000! See page 44 for details.
As always, please do get in touch if you are interested in advertising your business, organisation or event in the magazine. We would love to speak to you.
Until next time, Karen In this issue...
