A pair of early 19th century flint lock pistols, HAWKES MOSELEY & CO., LONDON, with 9¼” octagonal sighted barrel, the lock plates signed HAWKES MOSELEY & CO, with faceted ram rod thimble and stirrup ram rods, the engraved trigger guard with pineapple shaped finial, with vacant octagonal shaped wrist escutcheons, full walnut stock with chequered rounded butt, overall length 38.5cm. Hawkes Moseley & Co. are recorded as hatters, cap and helmet makers, sword cutlers and gun makers at 22 Piccadilly between 1810-20. £600-800 (+24% BP*)

A 19th century rosewood cased novelty castle clock, Payne, London, the square shaped dial with Roman numerals on an engine turned ground, inscribed indistinctly ‘PAYNE, LONDON’, the twin train fusee movement striking on a gong, within a square turreted case with glass panel top, simulated portcullis doors with steps below a Gothic tracery window with green glass insert, one side set with a Gothic arched doorway, the front set with a simulated portcullis, 25cm high x 12.5cm wide x 13cm deep. £800-1200 (+24% BP*)
